kenzie's doodle: Some giraffeses
Today, Kenzie was very specific about what to make for our project. How about these "giraffeses?"

I decided to make this more of a collage piece rather than again copying Holli's Junk-a-doodle style, so I gave Kenzie bare cardboard and asked her to announce the colors we'd need based on viewing our subjects. She painted these tones, which I then cut into the forms to make the giraffe's. Kenzie however insisted on a few found objects mid-way through and collected the junk herself. So, that's how we got to the outcome (after a final bath in glitter glue):

Yep, I just photograph our end product. I have a nice camera. It does all the work. :)
Perhaps a scanner would work as well? I'm not sure how Holli does it. But, her presentations are lovelier than my own....
Very cool! The giraffe project looked -- at first glance -- like a cabinet door. That got me thinking... I despise our kitchen cabinets... there's nothing wrong with the doors, other than the fact that they look, well, not the youngest anymore. They still work just fine, hence my reluctance to just replace them.
But, my young artists would surely be eager to tackle The Cabinet Project! I'm thinking that we could come up with a theme, cut cardboards to the appropriate size, and then craft away!
And, being mounted on cardboard, we could replace, er, refresh the art fairly easily in the future.
Along with that, my budding Sculpy artist would be delighted to make cabinet pulls to go along with the creations for the cabinet faces.
Thanks so much for the inspiration!!!
